Watch My Latest And Greatest Take Shape

Sporting Win7 Pro 64, Asus P6T WS MOBO, Intel's i7 Core CPU, 12 GB's RAM, ATI Radeon 4890 (Sapphire), Creative Lab's X-fi sound card, a thousand watt power supply, three hard drives and a fancy case from Apevia the new arrival pretty well handles what I throw at it.

Take all this stuff...

Intel i7 Core 920 installed.

Combo disc drive ready to spin up.

Final HD install, this one is ready for prime time.

Dump it here; that's the plan.

12 GB's Corsair RAM slotted in.

Audio/Video good to go.

Read Me files on the laptop.

Removed top fan; installed PWS.

ATI 4890 sucks lotsa juice!

Asus supplied back panel in.

Put the fan back in.

Ready for the smoke test.

MOBO in and connected.

Installed 1st of three hard drives.

Win7 going in; no smoke, not yet, anyways.

A Few Thoughts...

A modular power supply would have been better, but, as always, money was an issue and I got more bang for the buck with the conventionally wired PWS.

To do the CrossfireX thing I needed another ATI 4890, but sadly, the budget said no, and in any case, I couldn't find another Sapphire 4890.

The tri-channel Corsair RAM is a bit flaky; this is the second computer it's been in and it still loses 4 GB's on a warm reboot.
